« The land was used as the market garden for the château for many years and has its own water supply, although getting the system to work again will require some work.   When the we bought the property we were told that it had never had any pesticides or fertilisers used on it and we have certainly not used any.   It does now have the most wonderful wild flowers each April and May and is cut for hay once a year by a local farmer, at no expense to us because he takes the hay bales.  In return he does the 'nettoyage' of the field.   There  are two wells and of course the large pond, and the water source for the village commences on our land.   We have mown paths through the field so that at all times you can walk comfortably around the pond and the land, going down to the little copse at the bottom, where there is access from the road for agricultural machinery. »
